Estonian Saunas Bring Nordic Magic to Legendary Peninsula Hot Springs

Over three magical months, the Peninsula Hot Springs Pop-Up Sauna Space became a seasonal highlight, delighting visitors with the warmth, culture, and innovation of Nordic saunas - including Harmone’s Estonian-designed saunas and two crafted by local Australian experts, The Sauna Smith. Guests were invited to relax in these premium saunas, immersing themselves in the rituals and rejuvenating power of authentic sauna culture.

This unique space was brought to life in collaboration with Charles Davidson, Co-founder and Creative Director of Peninsula Hot Springs, and the exceptional PHS team, whose dedication ensured every detail was perfect. Angela Dance, the designer of the pop-up, and Coremark Constructions, who helped realise the physical structure, contributed their creativity and craftsmanship to create a welcoming, harmonious environment, while the Harmone team shared their sauna knowledge, helping shape the experience and bring authentic Nordic traditions to life.

The Harmone team flew in from Queensland several times to meet visitors, offer personalised demos, and share the stories behind Nordic sauna culture. They highlighted how the Saunum heater technology - crafted in Estonia and installed in all four saunas in the pop-up space - transforms the sauna experience, blending tradition with modern innovation.

A particularly memorable moment was when Helena from Harmone led a Nordic Circle one morning, gathering guests to share the sauna traditions of her homeland and spark conversations about the rituals, culture, and health benefits of sauna life.

The space offered a rare chance to experience a pure Nordic sauna atmosphere in one of Australia’s most iconic wellness destinations.
