We use high-quality, double-glazed mirror glass that’s 1.18 inches thick to minimize heat loss.

This glass consists of a 0.31-inch clear inner layer and a 0.24-inch mirrored outer layer, separated by a 0.63-inch gap filled with Argon gas.

The thermal efficiency of this glass is comparable to 2.36 inches of solid wood, ensuring excellent insulation.

With this design, you can enjoy a warm and efficient sauna experience, even in the coldest climates.

Haljas saunas are crafted for optimal comfort, providing a cozy, soothing atmosphere year-round.

During daylight, the interior of the sauna is not visible. At night, the interior can be partially seen, depending on the presence of an external light source.

In the Hele Mini, our design incorporates LED lights beneath the benches, intentionally obscuring the direct visibility of the light source. This arrangement reduces transparency through the glass panel.

To further enhance privacy, additional LED lights are placed beneath the eaves around the sauna. These LEDs cast light onto the glass surface, increasing reflectivity and further enhancing privacy.

The ground beneath the sauna should be prepared by removing the existing soil and replacing it with a well-drained, load-bearing material such as gravel, sand, or crushed stone.

In some cases, the sauna can be installed on pre-existing surfaces like terraces, rooftops, or stone pavements. Alternative foundations, such as concrete posts or screw pegs, are also options.

Ensure the surface has sufficient load-bearing capacity and allows for proper ventilation beneath the sauna. The minimum clearance between the sauna legs is necessary for airflow, and managing nearby vegetation is essential to prevent moisture issues.

When installing on a patio or deck, ensure the structure can support the weight of the sauna and its occupants.

The final location of your sauna depends on your preferences, the surrounding environment, and your personal taste. The placement should also follow the soil preparation guidelines in the previous questions. Here are a few examples of popular locations:

Haljas saunas are delivered nearly fully pre-assembled (plug & play). Detailed instructions pertaining to the unpacking process and installation procedures can be found in our user manual.

Please note that all electrical sauna installations must be performed by a licensed electrician to ensure safety and compliance with national standards.

Haljas saunas can be lifted either from beneath using a forklift or from above using the four pre-installed mounts on the roof. Detailed instructions are available in the user manual.

The roof is made of an insulated 60mm CLT board, covered with EPDM rubber for added durability and protection.

The sauna floor is equipped with milled water channels that direct water uniformly toward the drainage system, which includes an odor trap.

To ensure proper drainage, it’s essential to level the sauna using the adjustable legs provided. Additionally, a 1% slope in the direction of the water channel on the roof is recommended to facilitate optimal drainage.

One of our clients, Rait Lillemäe, who owns two Haljas saunas in an Airbnb, shared his experience:

“The glass maintenance is straightforward. After each guest visit, we polish both sides of the door. The glass walls require minimal effort—just a quick wipe on the inside where people have made contact, which takes about 5 minutes. We clean the exterior for 20-30 minutes, roughly six times a year.”

We recommend cleaning the glass at least twice a year. Keep in mind that outdoor conditions, such as rain, sunlight (UV radiation), air pollution (e.g., acid rain), and seasonal pollen, can make it more difficult to maintain a crystal-clear appearance. However, the frequency of cleaning is largely a matter of personal preference and does not affect the glass’s quality.
